*Redeemed is not affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God churches in

Africa and North America., however we ARE a multi-ethnic church with families from North America, Africa, the Caribbean,  and Spanish speaking countries. 

Redeemed was founded in 2001 by the Lord through Pastor Michael and his immediate family. As God gave him the vision, this church was developed in Waldorf, Maryland with a host of family and close friends who came to support the vision.

 

To give feet to its mission to love God and people, obey God’s Word, hate sin, and give freely, Redeemed is involved in a number of local, national and world-wide ministry activities such as spreading the gospel nationally, supporting a child in Uganda, and participating in local missions like clothing the needy and helping the disadvantaged.

 

Redeemed purchased property several years ago with the purpose of building a worship center and community based building.  A handful of people were used by God to help purchase the property until a facility is built and renaming of the property will occur. This spacious property is near the northern border of Charles County as you approach Route 210 and is approximately 7.5 acres.

 

Today, we have fed countless families, supported homeless, ministered to numerous inmates, counseled marriages, taught thousands, trained ministry leaders, equipped God’s people, and been involved in local government and education.

 

Redeemed continues to strive for the furtherance of the gospel in the earth through the use of mass and social media as well as minister in Charles County as a local church and light to many as we lift up the name of Christ.

 

We believe our mission is found in Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me for He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

 

Our leadership recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

 

 

Pastor Michael A. Wilson is the visionary and founder of Redeemed along with his father, Rev. James D. Wilson, Sr. 

 

Pastor Michael received the calling and started the church in 2001 and this ministry has been able to minister to thousands over the years in the Washington D.C. area.

 

Pastor Michael is a graduate of Liberty University (B.S.), Regent University (M.Ed.), George Washington University (M.Ed. ’21 and EdS. ’22), ATS Seminary (D.Min. and Doctorate in Spiritual Counseling), and Calvary Christian College (D.Min.). He is currently enrolled in Liberty University’s doctorate of Education (’24) program. He received his calling to ministry in 1988 and also served in the United States Army for 8 years.

 

He is the husband of his incredible wife Rachel and father of two lovely ladies. He is also the son of Reverend James Wilson and Mrs. Diane Wilson (founder of Sister’s Keepers and Uniting Sisters Ministries).

 

Pastor Michael has had an extensive career in public education as a teacher, principal, director, and college professor. He also served on the Ethics Board with Civista Medial Center, the Charles County Hospice, and Charles County Detention Center through Good News Jail and Street Ministry.

 

Pastor Michael is the author of “Forgive and Move On”, his first book and published by Trilogy Books of the Trinity Broadcasting Network. 

 

Pastor Michael believes that Redeemed Christian Worship Center will continue to be used to save lives, marriages, families and young people as they continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and serve the Charles County and surrounding DC Metropolitan area.  He cordially invites you to come visit our church and stay with us as we grow!

 

Our lay ministry team consists of Elders, Ministers and Deacons who serve the body of christ by attending to you and your family’s needs both during services and outside the church. They serve the church directly and assist the pastor with pastoral duties that help keep the church functioning as an organism. Examples of their service are: teaching Sunday School, serving communion, visiting hospitals, and maintaining church security.

 

 

Our administration team consists of church advisors, a church administrator, administration supports, and host of others who help keep the church functioning as an organization.  Examples of their service are: preparing annual receipts for giving, management of church finances/business affairs, church informational meetings, weekly bulletins, meeting presentations, etc.

 

 

Our service team consists of activity coordinators, monthly fellowship servant leaders, and others who organize services/events within and outside the church to keep the church functioning as both an organization and organism.  Examples of their service are: Redeemed’s clothing closet, annual anniversary celebration, End of Summer fellowship, annual health fair, and youth Back 2 School Jam.
