2013 is the year of REST at Redeemed
About Our Pastor
Pastor Michael A. Wilson is the son of Rev. James, Associate Pastor/Elder of RCWC and “Sister Ma” Diane Wilson, Founder of Sister’s Keepers, Inc. International. He credits his parents, brother and sister, and wife as his inspirational heroes and exemplars in life. He has been married to his exquisite wife Rachel since 1994 and they have two lovely young ladies.
After completing his Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University, Master’s from Regent University, he was licensed and ordained in ministry in the early 90’s.
Pastor Michael spent over 20 years in education as teacher, school principal, and college and seminary professor. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In 2001, Pastor Michael embraced God’s calling to establish Redeemed Christian Worship Center in Waldorf, MD. He later received his Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and a Doctorate of Ministry degree in 2009 and 2010.
Today, Pastor remains a faithful servant to God and ministry in both the local church and Charles County through volunteer work as a hospital chaplain, public school mentor, jail ministry volunteer, and is presently an elected board member to the Charles County Hospice.
Pastor Michael believes that Redeemed Christian Worship Center will continue to save lives, marriages, families, and young people as they continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and serve the Charles County and surrounding DC Metropolitan areas.
He also believes in the words of Eph 4:13-15. “ Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…”
About Redeemed Christian Worship Center
Redeemed Christian Worship Center is a non-denominational, family oriented church in Waldorf, Maryland. After 8 years of ministry, God led Pastor Michael to start Redeemed Christian Worship Center in 2001. Although the first four original members were Pastor Michael, his wife and two children, there were many who came and stayed with the church.
God gave Pastor Michael a vision for a church that would teach and obey the word of God, minister to needs of families, and be involved in Christian service.
As a new ministry in Waldorf, Redeemed began meeting at Jenifer Elementary School and received an initial donation from various sources such as Fort Foote Baptist Church and the District of Columbia Baptist Convention. In October of 2011, Redeemed began meeting in their own building 24 Industrial Park Drive in Waldorf.
Over time, the church began to develop other areas of ministry, in addition to a weekly church service. These ministries included Bible study, Sunday School, children’s church, youth and children’s ministries, and men’s and women’s specialized ministries. Today, there are different kinds of vibrant and effective ministries at Redeemed.
In 2006, a group got together to purchase 7.5 acres of property (including a house) for the church to ultimately own and build upon. The property is conveniently located on Berry Road (Rt. 228) less than 4 miles from their building, 24 Industrial Park Drive. In 2007, the house on the church property was renovated to meet the needs of the church. Redeemed plans to build a church building on this property to meet the growing needs of the church and community.
Redeemed is a church that follows after the example the apostle Paul gave to the church of Ephesus to become a church that loves God and His people, hates sin and obeys God’s word, serves God and others, and cheerfully gives.
